Acres of architectural salvage, garden antiques and reclaimed building materials set in the picturesque parkland of historic Knebworth House, Hertfordshire. An important stand at this year's Salvo Fair is Extreme Architecture of Kent who are bringing parts of the fabulous marble-clad c1902 Baltic Exchange, demolished to make way for London's Gherkin which is why Mark McGowan is starting his journey from there, the Temple Bar lodge, the art deco Lloyds building, and the seriously deco Royal Box from Ascot Racecourse. This ensemble of heritage London and royal buildings, now known as The Square Mile Project is being marketed as a single collection to provide the materials for an exquisite home or building, on sale for £2 million. The smallest stand will be Wocko The Woodman who will be demonstrating how to hew wood beams In between we hope there will be something for everyone to see and buy, from an old 19th century nail, upwards. Children under control are welcome on the Salvo Fair site when the fair is open on Sat1 and Sun 2 July. Admission includes entrance to Knebworth's children's adventure playground. Dogs on leads are welcome on the fair site. Parking is free.
